Privacy policy
Last updated: 7 November 2026
This policy explains how we collect and use your personal data when you use this site, take the quiz, claim a pre-order bonus or enter the prize draw. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. Where EU law applies, we also follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
1. Who we are
The controller of your data is Tobin Capital Limited (company number 12557981), 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX (“we”, “us”). For anything about your data, email admin@thepowerofselfdoubt.com.
2. The quiz
Your quiz answers and results are saved in your browser’s local storage, so you can carry on where you left off and compare results over time. If you create an account to save your results, we also store your quiz history (answers, scores and dates) with our account provider, Memberstack, so you can see it on any device. You can clear what’s on your device at any time in your browser settings, and ask us to delete your account.
If you choose to have your results emailed to you, we collect your first name, email address and your profile result (for example, “The Dreamer, C·E”) so we can send them, along with a short series of emails about your archetype and the book. You can unsubscribe from these at any time. We only add you to our newsletter if you tick the box.
After the quiz you can choose to answer three optional questions about your work, whether you are a parent or carer, and whether you are in a relationship. They are not scored and don’t change your profile; we use them only to tailor which parts of your report come first, and to understand in aggregate who takes the quiz. You can also save the commitment you write on your results page. Both are stored in your browser and, if you have an account, with Memberstack so they follow you across devices. You can skip the questions, change your answers at any time, or ask us to delete them. If you share feedback on the book, we keep your first name, email, rating and comments so Luke can read them. We only quote your feedback publicly, with your first name, if you tick the box giving permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time by emailing admin@thepowerofselfdoubt.com.
3. What we collect when you claim a bonus
- your name and email address
- the retailer, order number, number of copies and edition
- your receipt or order confirmation, if you enter the draw or claim a Team bundle (please hide payment card details and anything else you don’t want to share)
- whether you entered the draw and whether you chose to get our newsletter
If you email us about a corporate order or a speaking booking, we collect your name, contact details, organisation and whatever you include in your message.
If you win the draw, we will also collect what we need to arrange your prize, such as your address, date of birth and travel document details. With your consent, we may also collect access or dietary needs so we can look after you at the party.
When you visit the site, our website platform (Webflow) may record technical data such as your IP address and browser type, and our spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) checks that form submissions come from a person. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google. With your consent, we use analytics (Webflow Analyze and Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used, and advertising tools such as Meta to measure and improve our ads. Our cookie policy lists each one.
4. Why we use your data and our lawful basis

| Keep records and deal with legal claims | Legitimate interests and legal obligations |
We do not sell your data. We do not use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. The prize draw is a random selection.
5. Who we share it with
We only share your data with organisations that help us run the site and the offer, under contracts that require them to protect it. These are: our website and form platform (Webflow), our account provider (Memberstack), our email service provider, analytics and advertising providers (Google and Meta) where you have consented, the travel company that books winners’ trips, and our professional advisers. We may also share information with the Advertising Standards Authority or other regulators if they ask, or where the law requires it.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers store data outside the UK and the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. When this happens, we make sure the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision, or by approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
- Receipts and order numbers: deleted 6 months after the publication date, or 6 months after the draw for draw entrants, whichever is later.
- Claim records (name, email, edition and bonuses sent): 24 months, so we can resend bonuses and answer questions.
- Winners’ records: 6 years, for legal and accounting purposes.
- Corporate order and speaking enquiries: 24 months after our last contact, or 6 years after an order or booking, for tax and accounting purposes.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data
- correct it
- have it deleted
- restrict how we use it
- receive it in a portable format
- object to how we use it, including for direct marketing
- withdraw your consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email admin@thepowerofselfdoubt.com. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have used your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. If you live in the EU, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including limiting access to the people who need it.
10. Cookies and local storage
Essential storage runs the quiz, saves your results and keeps you logged in. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you agree, and you can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Our cookie policy (thepowerofselfdoubt.com/cookies) lists every cookie we use, who sets it and how long it lasts.
11. Age
The prize draw is only open to people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from children through the claim form.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
