“Only if I have a bit of self-doubt can I truly show up with confidence.”
Your field guide
Doubt doesn’t go away when you achieve things. When it shows up, name it, then reach for the right tool.
The Doubt Decoder: name which doubt is talking
| Doubt | Sounds like | Do this now |
|---|---|---|
| Comparison | “Am I keeping up?” | Mute social apps for an hour. Spend ten minutes listing what you’re proud of. |
| Perfectionism | “It’s not good enough yet.” | Send the draft as it is, or tell someone when they’ll see it. |
| Hesitation | “What if it isn’t big enough?” | Write “I want to ___.” Don’t plan it. Say it to one person. |
| Worthiness | “Do I deserve this?” | Write three things true about you that no title or opinion can take away. |
| Capacity | “Can I handle this?” | Set a ten-minute timer on the thing you’ve put off. Start, don’t finish. |
Chair the board: ten minutes before any big decision
1. One honest sentence: “I’m avoiding ___ because ___.”
2. Give each one a line. Mouse: what am I worried about? Lion: what’s the next right move? Clown: what’s the lighter way through? Elephant: what matters long term?
3. The chair decides: “I hear all of you. Here’s what we’re doing.”
4. Take the next step within 24 hours.
5. Close the loop: what did I fear, what happened, what did it prove?
Courage habits: pick one a day
The first move. Initiate instead of waiting.
One hard thing. Do the task you’re resisting first.
A small boundary. Decline one thing. Protect your energy.
A visible share. Post, pitch or present the thing.
The reset. Each night, name one brave thing you did.

Your move in the next 48 hours
Name one brave thing you’ll do and who’ll hold you to it. Then send it to them. A commitment someone else knows about is far harder to dodge.
